A traditional caffeine-free coffee substitute from Gaziantep made by roasting and grinding the seeds of the terebinth tree (Pistacia terebinthus), then brewing them like Turkish coffee in a cezve. The resulting drink has a nutty, slightly resinous flavor and is served with sugar. Gaziantep Menengiç Kahvesi received a protected geographical indication from the European Union.

The result is a strong, aromatic brew with a thick layer of foam, served in small cups with water. UNESCO inscribed Turkish coffee culture on its Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2013. The grounds are traditionally used for fortune telling.
